The Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center (VTC) is a national leader in the research and development of innovative transportation policy. The Center brings to bear the full array of resources of a major research university on transportation issues of regional and national significance.

Under the leadership of Director Robert Noland and Project Manager Stephanie E. DiPetrillo, VTC’s Transit-Oriented Development project researches development and redevelopment anchored around transit stations. The center also produces a nationally recognized newsletter on TOD issues, Transit-Friendly Development.
New Jersey Safe Routes to School helps create a safer and more accessible walking and bicycling environment for children in New Jersey through education, training, and research. Safe Routes to School projects can involve physical improvements to the environment, as well as encouragement programs to help make walking and biking more appealing.
News: Effective 4/6/2015 repairs on the George Washington Bridge South Sidewalk will begin, and continue until 5/22/2015. The work will be performed on weekdays, during which time the South Sidewalk will be closed and the North Sidewalk will be open. On weekends, the South Sidewalk will be open and the North Sidewalk will be closed. After 5/22/15, repair work will begin on the North Sidewalk, which will continue throughout the summer months.
