The NJ Statewide Pedestrian Survey was conducted in November 2009. Data were collected from a total of 1200 respondents, of which 800 were selected randomly from throughout the state, and the remaining 400 were selected from Jersey City. The primary purpose of this report is to document basic statistics from the survey. The survey provides useful information on walking behavior of individuals living in New Jersey and Jersey City, including propensity and frequency of walking, trip purpose, and demographic and socioeconomic variations in walking behavior.
