Egg Harbor City, New Jersey, participated in the 2024-2026 South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization (SJTPO) Complete Streets Technical Assistance (CSTA) Program. The SJTPO worked with the Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center (VTC) at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Sustainable Jersey (SJ), and Cross County Connection Transportation Management Association (CCCTMA) to provide technical assistance to the City.

Egg Harbor City received assistance in developing a Complete & Green Streets Policy. This report provides insights into the policy planning process and provides several recommendations for promoting Complete Streets in Egg Harbor City. The project team gathered stakeholder and public input as part of its analysis of pedestrian safety concerns in the City. Following that analysis, the team recommended several options for a resolution or ordinance and additional steps to advance Complete Streets within Egg Harbor City.

Recommendations included adopting a model policy provided by the CSTA team, updating municipal ordinances to strengthen implementation of the policy, and encouraging continued training. The team also provided guidance on exploring funding opportunities for implementation of Complete Streets throughout
Egg Harbor City.

On February 26, 2026, Egg Harbor City adopted the revised Complete & Green Streets Policy that the CSTA team recommended. This is a major achievement for Egg Harbor City and a sign of the City’s commitment to Complete Streets principles. This report builds on the momentum of the new resolution and provides recommendations that will help Egg Harbor City implement Complete Streets on municipal roads, make them more competitive for grant funding, and communicate their roadway safety priorities to the state and county agencies that manage roads within Egg Harbor City. Adopting Complete Streets and implementing transportation infrastructure designed for all users improves safety throughout the transportation network, providing benefits to the entire region.
