TheBigJump-Logo-Tagline-Color-01During the June 23rd New Jersey Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Council (BPAC) meeting, Charles Brown made an announcement concerning an exciting opportunity to help promote bicycling in your community.

Here are the details:

The Big Jump Project is a three-year effort to help 10 places achieve a big jump in biking – a doubling or tripling of people riding – by building a network of safe and comfortable places to ride and engaging the community. It is also about proof of concept: if a city does all the right things, more people will ride and the community will be a better place to live, work and play. The Big Jump team is looking for 10 places that will achieve great things for biking between now and 2020.

The Big Jump Project builds on the momentum and success of the PeopleForBikes Green Lane Project that helped get protected bike lanes on the ground, into the design toolbox and established them as the gold standard for comfortable biking on busy streets. Similar to the Green Lane Project, The Big Jump Project will provide a package of support to the ten places, including technical advice, leadership development, and national media exposure.
