In 2004, West Windsor completed the West Windsor Township Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan through aid received from the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s (NJDOT) Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program. With almost eight years having passed since its completion, West Windsor has shown a dedication to following the plan and has received a Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC), Bronze level designation from the League of American Bicyclists (LAB). This is the first community in New Jersey to receive Bronze level status, which provides benefits to West Windsor in the form of national recognition and promotion, technical assistance, as well as grant and funding notifications to help expand the communities’ bicycle facilities.

West Windsor’s designation also has the potential to aid in improving the state’s overall designation, which is currently Bronze and listed as the 5th most bike friendly state in the country!
